The ambitiously named grape Sangiovese (Blood of Jove) has sometimes been more notorious than noteworthy. Over the five centuries of its history in Tuscany, thankfully the thin astringent Chianti of straw-clad fiasci is mostly consigned to the past and these days, wines made from Sangiovese have never been better. Our webinar charts the path from recovery to excellence over the last decades culminating in the new UGA areas equivalent to crus introduced this year.
