Our first New Wave Rioja tasting showcases the recent trends in this most traditional of Spanish wine regions. Rioja was historically defined by time in barrel but younger winemakers are taking a radically different approach – far closer to Burgundy in its emphasis on terroir and the influences of mountains and valleys.
With wines from hot new talents including Sandra Bravo, Roberto Olivan and Artuke along with the re-evaluation of old bush vine Garnacha, this tasting will provide a great introduction to New Wave Rioja.
