The tiny, beautiful, and remote Jura region is sandwiched between Switzerland and Burgundy. Its singular wines have captivated wine enthusiasts for a long time but are seldom available outside the region.

Fresh from a recent Educators’ visit to Jura and armed with a handful of some of the region’s best wines, we have been able to muster enough wines for a very rare Jura masterclass.

While the region mirrors Burgundy in its use of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it has its own unique way of handling them. Beyond these two famous grapes, Savagnin for whites in every form from bone dry, aged “Sous Voile” and Vin Jaune and delicate reds from Ploussard and Trousseau make up the rest. These are wines which will appeal to Burgundy lovers and fans of “Flor“ too.

And of course, the region’s famous Comté cheese will be served ………….
