We explore the joys of one of the world’s most versatile yet often unrecognised grape varieties.  30 years ago, it was the most planted red grape on the planet, yet it rarely boasted its name on a label outside Australia until a decade ago when it made a return to fashion.  We explore its many faces – white skinned, pink skinned, red or even hairy – the varied styles of wine it can make and where in the world to find the best examples now.

Time:  7.00 to 8.15 pm.

Presenter:  Pippa Hayward with Sandy Leckie.

Availability:  Good.
