- Taste up to 16 wines in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
- 6 hours of wine tasting and tuition
- Lunch with more wine
- Meet sociable people who share your interest in wine
Our 1-day workshops are designed to appeal to people who would like
to learn a bit about wine but don't have the time to follow one of our
evening courses. They make great Christmas or anniversary presents.
In these workshops, we will teach you how to taste properly and how
to describe and evaluate a wine using appropriate vocabulary. We will
help you understand the factors that influence the style of a wine –
climate, grape variety, etc. - and give you the confidence to make sense
of wine labels and choose wine to go with food.
Lunch with wine is an integral part of the day.
We offer one general introductory workshop (The World of Wine).and
four special-interest workshops, focused on France, Italy, Spain & Portugal
and Champagne/Sparkling Wines (Le Tour de France, La Dolce Vita, Ibéricos
and Bring on the Bubbly).
At The World of Wine workshops, we will take you on a ‘guided
tour’ of the great wine producing regions of the world. You will
taste 16 classic wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Porto, Rioja
and Tuscany as well as a representative selection of wines from the ‘New
World’.
Each of the four special-interest workshops, will give you an deep
insight to the wines of the area(s) concerned. You will taste up to
16 wines, carefully selected to illustrate the key of points of the
workshop.
